- In the final chapter of The Lion King, Simba returns to the Pride Lands and finds them dry, lifeless, and ruled harshly by Scar and the hyenas. Realizing the suffering of his family and kingdom, Simba steps forward to claim his place as the true heir of Mufasa.
A fierce battle breaks out on Pride Rock. Scar tries to blame everything — including Mufasa’s death — on the hyenas, but Simba forces him to admit the truth. Enraged by his betrayal, the hyenas turn against Scar, ending his reign of fear.
As rain begins to fall, cleansing the land, Simba climbs Pride Rock. With one powerful roar, he announces the return of the true king. Life slowly returns to the Pride Lands. Peace is restored.
The story closes with Rafiki lifting Simba and Nala’s newborn cub high above Pride Rock, completing the Circle of Life and beginning a new era of hope.
